What is the Robinson Curriculum?

The Robinson Curriculum is an affordable, self-teaching method focusing on the 3R's and quality literature.  It was developed by a scientist, Arthur Robinson.  Mr. Robinson and his wife homeschooled their children.  Then the unexpected happened and his wife passed away.  The Robinson Curriculum is the product that resulted from his journey of raising and educating his children on his own.  You can read more here.

The premise is begin the day with Math.  He does not provide a math curriculum,  but offers a discounted price on Saxon Math, next is writing a one page essay/age appropriate copywork, followed by reading quality literature provide on cd's. Everything else is considered extra and done on leisure time. He discusses his reasons for his method, and restrictions on diet and television.  Here are more details. 

You ask " how successful can this curriculum be?" ...Well, according to his website  in regards to his children, they are all in or have been to college in a field of science.

Many RC users tweak the curriculum to meet the needs or likes of their families and there are some that stick strictly to it.  Like with any curriculum, the parent is the ultimate decision maker on how to use a curriculum.  So, Don't be afraid to tweak away!
